Myne: Isolation is a 3d top down shooter that is focused on the narrative of its protagonist. It has great replayability with its planet system and constantly evolving challenges as well as exploration rewards in form of weapons and skills to keep you engaged as you uncover more of the story.
Narrative
Myne: Isolation stars a world that is futuristic in nature. Myne, the protagonist, is a soldier from a group of soldiers named the Alumni. They are soldiers of Nexus, human’s future home world, that have passed an inhuman level of training from The Academy, the governing power of Nexus, and are hailed as the ultimate good in their society.
The story starts with Myne being attacked by an unknown force while trying to finish a regular scouting mission. Her spaceship blows up, Blinky, her companion, gets hacked and shutdown and her armour stops functioning, causing her to lose access to most of her armour-based abilities and protection. She survives the crash but is in a dire situation where she must now use the technologies left behind by the people of the past and find her way back home. One such technology she will be using consistently is the Physical Obliteration, Receiving and Transferring Allocated Location or PORTAL for short. Through the portal, she will fight the hostiles and survive from planet to planet until she finally gets back to Nexus and find out who was responsible for the attack.
The world of Myne: Isolation is vast and varied from level to level. The player explores different planets on their way to their destination each with their own settings, enemies and resources to find. This gives a sense of fresh gameplay and interesting challenges for the player to overcome.
It is also narratively driven with each level progressing the story, giving players new perspective on the story and who the benefactors of our destruction might be as well as what we are fighting for.
Gameplay and Mechanics
The game’s main objective is to survive until the portal is fully charged so you can move to the next planet that brings you ever closer to Nexus. You will find hostile creatures in every planet you visit with different mechanics and abilities as well as the creatures will get stronger with time. As such the challenge will keep creeping up so the survival will become harder and harder each time.
Fortunately, the game rewards the player with resources, experience points and weapons to combat challenges through kills and exploration. The regular enemies in the game, upon death, have a chance to drop bio-organic metal or techno-organic metal while also giving experience for. The bio-organic metal upgrades the blaster while techno-organic metal upgrades the suit and it’s abilities. Experience is collected in the weapon in use and with each level up, you gain a passive ability from said weapon. This passive is always active and can be mixed with other weapon’s passives to create powerful combos.
The more powerful enemies or bosses, drop a bio-organic metal core. This resource can be used to upgrade your weapon abilities. Each weapon has their own ability, and they can be upgraded several times before reaching its final form.
If the player chooses to risk their portal progress and explores, they are sometimes rewarded with new weapons they can find in the rubble of war. These weapons can be replicated by Katherine and the player can use that weapon at any time.
The variety of options for personalization of plays styles, the players are encouraged to explore their options in gameplay and are rewarded for their grind as well as their creativity.

The Works
- Myne was designed together by the team and the enemies as well as Blinky was designed by me.
- The 3 enemy as well as Myne models were made in blender. I textured and rigged them for my friend to be able to animate it.
- The model of Blinky as well the animations he has were done by me using blender.
- Any modifications of all 3d objects in the game were also done by me.
